Taking it to the next level

It all started with a friend saying "So Paulo, I have this old shirt that I don't even wear anymore. Could you do something with it?", and by that time I was S-I-C-K of doing galaxy shirts. Everyone wanted them and I was feeling like some sort of print machine when it actually takes a lot of time to paint on those. So I asked him if it was ok for him if I screw the shirt up. He said it was fine. THAT'S WHY I LOVE MY FRIENDS. I took that shirt and told myself I wouldn't do anything I had done before, plus, I was having those crazy ideias (it's coming soon) about painting with bleach and... yeah, I did this shirt. Since I had no idea what would look like in the end I took pictures of the entire bleaching process. I'm surprised and content. My little cousin was the model this time because, you know, family is for those things (low budget and not enough time to find anyone else).
MORE NEWS: I had a customer last month. Yes, you heard right, someone PAID me to make them one of my shirts. I don't do that often but I've decided I will accept those kinds of offers but if only I follow two main rules: EINS- the project should be authentic and not a copy of an old one. ZWO- the money is exclusively for buying supplies and other stuff I might need for projects. So, in case you want some of my stuff or even have an idea to share, I might make it and give you a super extra discount or even give it to you! You help me, I help you.

Tudo começou com um amigo dizendo: "Então Paulo, eu tenho essa camiseta velha aqui que eu nem uso mais. Tu teria como fazer alguma coisa com ela?", e naquela época eu estava cheio de fazer as camisetas de galáxia. Todo mundo queria uma e eu estava me sentindo como um impressora ambulante (sempre com as mãos sujas de tinta), quando na verdade demora muito tempo pra se pintar uma camiseta dessas. Então eu perguntei pra ele se tinha algum problema se eu estragasse a camiseta. Ele disse que tudo bem. E É POR ISSO QUE AMO MEUS AMIGOS. Peguei aquela camiseta e falei pra mim mesmo que não faria nada que já tivesse feito, e eu estava tendo essa idéias malucas (em breve, em breve) de pintar com alvejante e... é, eu fiz essa camiseta. E já que eu não fazia ideia de como isso iria ficar no final, tirei fotos de todo o processo de descoloração. Fiquei surpreso e contente. Meu priminho foi meu modelo dessa vez porque, né, família é pra essas coisas (dinheiro curto e sem tempo pra achar outra pessoa).
MAIS COISAS: eu tive um cliente semana passada. Não, não é mentira, alguém realmente PAGOU pra que eu fizesse uma das minhas camisetas. Eu geralmente não faço isso mas decidi aceitar este tipo de oferta mas somente se eu seguisse dua regras. EINS- o produto tem que ser autentico e não uma cópia de algo que eu já tenha feito. ZWO- o dinheiro é exclusivo pra comprar materiais e coisas que eu precise para outros projetos. Então, se tu quiseres algo que eu faço ou tiveres alguma ideia para dividir, eu talvez dê um mega desconto ou ainda te dê a peça. Tu me ajudas, eu te ajudo.


Today's extra: My happy (I guess) customer and some backstage action.

Burgundy/ Framboesa/ Vinho/ Borgonha/ Bordô/ Whateverelseyouwannacall

Not really much to say. I was in desperate need to have new shoes. Plus, I've been slowly falling into that whole burgundy trend thing. But it has been for a while. Since last year I decided that burgundy was my red. My wardrobe is not color full but I love a great outstanding pair of shoes. So the reason why I have this blog and why I ''create'' all those things showed up once again in my life. I want it, I don't know where I can buy it and I just don't have enough money to owe a Gucci (like Andrew Garfield does). I made my own.
 Twice a year, my city has the (not really) National ~craziness~ for Shoes Fair. I spotted this affordable pair with potential. Had to get a smaller size because its shape is not the best (yes, I do things like that) but they are not ridiculously tight, just a little bit. I can handle that. After all I had no idea what I was doing, so I just grabbed some fabric paint, some polish spray and did it. It is not perfect (it look lighter than it actually is on the pictures, camera flash's fault) since the paint is not made for leather, neither the polish for stretching materials but I guess I will be rocking these all winter long.

Não tenho muita coisa pra dizer. Eu estava em desespero querendo comprar/ganhar sapatos novos. E pra completar eu estou caindo lentamente nessa tal de tendência do vinho/bordô e tal. Mas faz um tempinho já. Ano passado decidi que o vinho era o meu vermelho, até porque meu guarda-roupa não é cheio de muitas cores. Mas eu curto muito um bom par de sapatos marcante. Então a razão pela qual eu tenho esse blog e eu faço todas estas coisas que se encontram aqui postadas deu as caras na minha vida novamente. Eu queria, não tinha onde comprar por aqui e eu não tenho dinheiro pra adquirir um Gucci (como Andrew Garfield). Eu fiz os meus próprios. 

Duas vezes no ano, minha cidade tem a Feira da Loucura por Sapato / Feira (nem tão) Nacional do Calçado. Avistei esse modesto par e vi um potencial. Tive que comprar um tamanho menor porque o formato deles não era o melhor (sim, eu me submeto a isso) mas não é extremamente apertado, só um pouco. Consigo aguentar. Depois disso tudo eu não fazia idéia do que eu tava fazendo então peguei uma tinta pra tecido mesmo, um verniz em spray e fiz. O sapato não é perfeito (ficou bem mais claro nas fotos, tudo culpa do flash) já que a tinta não é feita pra ser aplicada em couro, nem o verniz para coisas que esticam mas acredito que vou gastar ele todo esse inverno pelo menos.

Galatic Fever

One of the funniest DIY's I've ever done. It is so simple although it takes some time to get done. Taking the fabric, bleaching it, letting it dry, washing it, letting it dry, applying a base paint, painting with colors, blending, blending, blending again, adding white paint, put some stars and planets, fixing some mistakes, giving the final touches. Voilá! One side is done. Turn and repeat the process.
I'm not doing a tutorial kind-of-thing because I don't see any mistery on doing this. There is not a right way to do it. It's more like something you keep on painting until you feel it looks good. That's how I do it, so all of them are different. Also, after this experiment I'm really looking forward to try some more bleaching and dying. Wait for it, it's coming soon.
Last but not least, I want to thank my beloved friends who were my inspiration and also my models this time. I hope you all enjoy your presents (I gave to each one of them what they were wearing in the pictures <3 ).

Um dos DIYs mais divertidos que eu já fiz. É muito simples mas demora um bom tempo pra ficar pronto. Pegar o tecido, desbotar, deixar secar, lavar, deixar secar, passar uma tinta de base, pintar com as cores, espalhar, esfumaçar, esfumaçar de novo, adicionar tinta branca, fazer estrelas e alguns planetas, arrumar alguns erros, dar os toque finais. Pronto! Um lado está pronto. Vire e repita o processo.

Não estou fazendo um tutorial porque não vejo nenhum mistério em fazer isso. Não existe um jeito exato de se fazer. É mais como algo que tu vais pintando até tu te sentir satisfeito. É assim que eu faço, e por isso cada peça é diferente. Também, depois desse experimento, fiquei bem empolgado em tentar brincar mais um pouco com alvejante (vulgo Qboa), outros descolorantes e corantes. Me aguarde!
Por último mas não menos importante, queria agradecer meus queridos amigos que foram de certa forma as inspirações e também meus modelos dessa vez. Espero que vocês curtam seus presente (dei para cada um deles o que eles estavam vestindo nas fotos <3).

QUICK: Striping It Down

As simple as it looks like. Fitted plain white dress shirt from H&M. Add some black painting. Done. I actually did this before, last year to be more specific, using the same fabric marker I used for my leopard shoe. As I washed the shirt it started to discolor and shit. I did it again and I hope I can wear it more than once now.


Tão simples quanto parece. Camisa branca de modelagem ajustada da H&M. Pinta umas partes de preto. Pronto. Na verdade eu já tinha feito essa camisa antes, ano passado mais precisamente, usando a mesma canetinha pra tecido que usei no meu sapato de onça. Fui lavando e a tinta começou a desbotar. Fiz de novo e espero poder usar essa camisa mais do que uma vez agora.
