Galatic Fever

One of the funniest DIY's I've ever done. It is so simple although it takes some time to get done. Taking the fabric, bleaching it, letting it dry, washing it, letting it dry, applying a base paint, painting with colors, blending, blending, blending again, adding white paint, put some stars and planets, fixing some mistakes, giving the final touches. Voilá! One side is done. Turn and repeat the process.
I'm not doing a tutorial kind-of-thing because I don't see any mistery on doing this. There is not a right way to do it. It's more like something you keep on painting until you feel it looks good. That's how I do it, so all of them are different. Also, after this experiment I'm really looking forward to try some more bleaching and dying. Wait for it, it's coming soon.
Last but not least, I want to thank my beloved friends who were my inspiration and also my models this time. I hope you all enjoy your presents (I gave to each one of them what they were wearing in the pictures <3 ).

Me aguarde!

Bonus: some photos I had on Instagram.

QUICK: Striping It Down

As simple as it looks like. Fitted plain white dress shirt from H&M. Add some black painting. Done. I actually did this before, last year to be more specific, using the same fabric marker I used for my leopard shoe. As I washed the shirt it started to discolor and shit. I did it again and I hope I can wear it more than once now.

Fui lavando e a tinta começou a desbotar.

(I remember watching this and starting to get the black collar on the white shirt feeling/ Lembro de assistir isso e começar a sentir a onda do colarinho preto na camisa branca)

Animal Soul

You know when you like something so much that you buy it the same but in different colors or slighty different? I do it all the time. Today's tale is about a small sort of hidden store that I magically discovered in the middle of Chinatown and Kensington Market in Toronto. A load of crappy neon cheap souvenir shirts were bloking the entrance of this halway-size store. The owner, really kind, said I could buy any stamp (imagine a wall full of decals) with any size and colour of shirt (that was the reast of the store). He had this heating machine at very back of the store and I asked if he could do the thing for me. He said yes. I was backflipling inside my body. That day I bought the bear shirt and it was only 10 dolars. Of course, I went back and got those two others. I sincerely feel bad for not having enough financial support at the time to transform my wardrobe into a zoo. I'm geting there, wait for me.

Eu vou chegar lá, me aguarde.

QUICK: "New" Bag

I'm here to tell you all about this amazing family-members-only amazing tip that I was blessed with last week. Ok, just kidding, it is not a family secret or anything but I was having some trouble last week finding a good bag to storage and carry the materials I use in some classes at university (lots of paper, pencils, paper clips, newspapers, pens, coal, and all that drawing crap you have to have with you all the time). So I had this big blue thin square bag that I got last year from a community store but I didn't use to use it since it's quite large for an everyday bag. Necessity plus utility, my brain worked for a second and I had this briliant idea to nominate that bag as my university-kind-of-bag. I carry it with me only once a week (when I have drawing classes) along with my personal bag which contains everything else you can imagine. The problem seemed to be solved but unfortunately it was not. Rocking hobo-style almost everyday is not a big of a deal for me but that bag was looking way too worned out. It was cheap at the time, it was definately worth it but i had to have that problem solved. There it comes my fantastic mother who watched me struggling with it and simply said: "Have you tried using shoe polishing grease?". Here it is another proof that mothers know a little bit of everything.

PREVIEW: Sequin Shirt Dilema

Achei o dito cujo e me senti forçado a finalmente criar algo com eles.

Hope you've enjoyed!

Non-identical Twins

Bought those at Asos.com. I felt I had to pimp them a little bit so is sort of created two distinct personalities for each one of them. One is Navajo kinda-of-thing and its really spring looking. The other one has a concrete, monocromatic constantly moving (the fringe) feeling. Love them so bad. I'm considering wearing one in each foot.

Wild DIY

For such a long time I've been so obsessed with leopard shoes but I couldn't find man sizes. Therefore, I did what I alwayss do: I made my own. I did this last year in June and I have to say I wasn't expecting it to become such a big hit as it is now. A lot of people asked me to show how I did it, so here it is.
I used:

- A pair of shoes (white ones from H&M)
- A pair of scissors
- Fabric glue
- Measuring tape
- Decoration ribbon
- Fabric marker/ permanent marker

P.S. I'm not teaching anything. I think anybody can make that and we all know how to do it (you can see how easy it is), I'm just showing how I did it and maybe I can help someone with some ideas. And for all of you who doubted and said i was lying when I said I did it (yes, some people just go ignorant sometimes)...
Hope you all enjoy.
